Anna Miller
Scholarship: North American Flight Control
My name is Anna Miller, and I am honored to be selected as a recipient of the North American Flight Control Scholarship. This opportunity allows me to continue advancing my qualifications and pursuing my passion for aviation.I currently hold a Commercial Multi-Engine Land pilot’s license, a Remote Pilot certificate, and have logged over 350 flight hours. In January 2025, I joined UPS Airlines as a FlightPath Intern, an invaluable experience that deepened my understanding of airline operations and broadened my perspective on the aviation industry.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, with minors in Finance, Business Administration, and Applied Meteorology. I am now completing my MBA in Airline Management at ERAU. Alongside academics, I was a dedicated NCAA Division II track and cross-country student-athlete, competing for five years.
Professionally, I also contributed nearly two years as a Technical Project Assistant at the FAA’s NextGen Florida Test Bed, where I supported research and development initiatives to modernize the National Airspace System.
Looking ahead, I am eager to pursue a career in aircraft dispatching, a role that combines flight planning, weather analysis, and aircraft performance. I believe my background, skills, and lifelong passion for aviation make me well-prepared to contribute meaningfully in this field.
JuliAnne Miller
Scholarship: Institute Operations and Dispatch
Hello, my name is JuliAnne Miller, and I am truly honored to be awarded the Institute Operations and Dispatcher Scholarship. Becoming an airline dispatcher has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am excited to be taking the next step toward this career.
I recently completed my degree in Aviation Science and Management at Middle Georgia State University and am now pursuing a Master’s in Commercial Aviation through Delta State University’s online program. Along with my academic studies, I earned my FAA Airframe & Powerplant license at Lansing Community College in Michigan, where I currently live with my daughter.
My passion for aviation began in childhood when I was invited into the flight deck of United’s Friend Ship. Our neighbor at the time was the captain on the ORD–LAX–HNL route in the mid-1970s, and from that day forward, I knew I wanted to work for United Airlines.
With my background as a licensed mechanic and General Familiarization in the A320 family, my goal is to gain valuable experience as a dispatcher with United and, in time, contribute further in leadership roles such as operations manager or director. I look forward to bringing my skills, dedication, and love of aviation to this career and making a meaningful impact in the field of airline operations.
Michelle Veloso
Scholarship Technical Aviation Services (TAS)My name is Michelle Veloso, and I am honored to be selected as a recipient of the TAS Scholarship. I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and later moved to the Bay Area, where I began my aviation career as a flight attendant with United Airlines. Today, I am proud to serve as a flight instructor at Oakland Airport, helping others pursue their aviation goals.
I am truly grateful for this scholarship and excited to continue advancing in my aviation journey as I prepare for the next chapter of my career.
